Rules & Regulations

For Isle of Wight International Film Festival

  • All films entered must be DVD and PAL format. It is helpful if the start of the film is preceded  by at least five seconds of black.
  • TWO DVD copies of each film submitted must be supplied. One for our records and one for screening.
  • If you want us to promote your film in the latest submission section, it is essential that you provide either some stills and or a promotional clip of your film. If you do not supply us with either a clip or stills we can not, included it on our website. When submitting your film please can you add the clip and stills to a separate CD or DVD in addition to the two dvd's you submit to us.
  • You can submit more than one film but each entry must be on a separate DVD and with its accompanying submission form and fee.
  • All films submitted must have approval / clearance of all people concerned i.e. copyrighted, Performing Rights clearance and have copies of Consent Forms.
  • Films can be any age, we are trying to encourage film makers who have never shown their work to the public.
  • All films entered will be shown (films including exploitation and pornography may be included if deemed appropriate to the films theme and at the judges discretion).
  • All submissions not in the English language must have English subtitles or be dubbed in English.
  • Submitted films will not be returned.
  • All film entry costs are to be met by the person submitting the film/films.
  • No film may be withdrawn after submission.
  • Films must not have been shown on TV or made commercially available.
  • To avoid HMR custom fees, please ensure all films are clearly labeled, for temporary cultural purposes only, no commercial value, non pornographic.
  • Screening schedules are at the discresion of the IOWIFF Committee and whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedules, changes may unfortunately be made at anytime without prior notice or reason given.
  • All submissions must be accompanied by a completed and signed entry form. This doubles as our contract with you for distribution of the film, so please read it carefully. Send the completed entry form together with your film to the following address:

  • Warning: Entries that are submitted without an accompanying submission form will not be considered for inclusion in the festival and the submission fee/fees will not be refundable.
