Regulations & Payment Options
The 1st Ryde International Film Festival Isle of Wight (IOWIFF) will take place in Ryde from 28th April to 1st May 2011. The festival aims to reflect the cultural, visual and narrative diversity of the Local, National & International independent film making community, films by first-time directors, directors with disabilities and films by young people are welcomed. IOWIFF accepts fictional, documentary and experimental features, short films, pop promos and children’s films.

Submission Deadline
Submissions will be accepted from 12th January 2010.
The regular deadline is
31st January 2011.
The late deadline is 28th February 2011.
There is an extended Final Call - only deadline of 31st March 2011.
Submission Format
Films must be submitted on 2 DVD’s only and in PAL & NTSC Format.
If you wish to have a promotional clip of your film included on our website, please can you add the clip to one of the two dvd's you submit to us, so that we can promote your film on our website.
The title, screening format and running time must be clearly labelled on the cover. Submitted copies will not be returned but may be collected from IOWIFF on written request. After this date, all uncollected submissions will be recycled.
Submission Eligibility
- Films must not have been commercially released in the UK on any format.
-Submitted entries MUST include, a completed submissions form, the correct submissions fee, cast and crew credits, and a short Directors write up of the film.
-To enable us to preview selected films on our web site and social network sites it would be useful, but not obligatory, if you can submit a trailer copy, (1 min max) and also a CD with a director’s photograph and two production stills.
- All films in a language other than English must be subtitled in English or dubbed in English.

Final Call - deadline (31st March 2011):
• any film - £35
All Submissions are payable via PayPal, if you are unable to pay your submission fee using PayPal we will only accept Bankers Drafts for non EU countries.
Submission Fee IOW Community Film Makers Categories
Early deadline (31st January 2011):
• any film - £5
Late deadline (28th February 2011):
• any film - £8.50
All Submissions are payable via PayPal for the IOW Community Film Makers Categories
The submission fee is not refundable.
Payments not made through PAYPAL must be made in Pounds Sterling. IOWIFF is unable to accept payment in any other currency. Submission fees must be paid by UK bank via BACS, international money order, or Pounds Sterling travellers cheques. Please make any payment payable to ‘Ryde International Film Festival ’.

All shipping and postage costs to and from the festival must be borne by the submitting party, including those for the submission package and, if the film is selected, for all prints, tapes and additional materials sent to and returned from IOWIFF.
IOWIFF will not accept Cash On Delivery shipments and will not absorb any fees incurred in British customs. All charges must be pre-paid. IOWIFF will not accept submissions if customs and delivery fees have not been paid by the Submitting Party. Submission packages from outside the UK must be labelled ‘Trade Sample’ on any customs label and, for customs purpose, must be given a value of no more than £10.
Selection of Films
We will endeavour to screen ALL films submitted and submissions are reviewed and selected under the following criteria:
– Quality of DVD footage and audio production values
– Independent nature of the production
– Limitations and availability of screening slots
– All legal and copyright agreements have been met before film submission.
IOWIFF endeavours to complete all review procedures by 31st March 2011. Successful submissions will receive notification that will include important information on the festival, press and publicity, guest accreditation, contact information and how to make the most of participating in the festival.
IOWIFF aspires to provide the best quality projection possible, but will not be held liable for any failure in the technical quality of the projection, nor will fees be refunded in any such case. Screenings are scheduled during the festival at the discretion of IOWIFF. Whilst every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule, IOWIFF reserves the right to make changes at any time for any reason. IOWIFF will not be liable for any costs claimed as a result of a change in scheduling.
No film may be withdrawn from the festival programme after its selection and no film may be screened outside the festival venue during the festival and before its official presentation without the approval of IOWIFF.
Festival Prizes
There will be a Jury first (1st) prize for all categories, with a single overall winner for all of IOWIFF’s listed categories.
The overall winning film will receive a prize of £1,000 sterling.
